Sycamore Shoals St Park
Elizabethton, Tennessee, April 1, 2023

Today we drove up to Elizabethton to visit Sycamore Shoals. This was the site of Ft Watauga and the birthplace of the "nation" known as the Watauga Association. The men of this nation marched to Kings Mountain, NC to help the colonists defeat the British. These men were better known as the Overmountain Men and significantly helped the colonists gain independence! /hugh
