Confederate Cemetary, Johnson Island, OH, Tuesday, August 1, 2017
We took the long causway over Lake Erie and visited the cemetary were there had been a prison for confederate officers during the American Civil War. Out of the 12,000 prisoners at this huge prison only a little more than 200 died during confinement and almost all took an oath of allegiance to the United States and were released before the war ended. /hugh
