Wallace Idaho
Saturday, June 3, 2017
We came to Wallace to paddle the whitewater of the South Fork of the Cour d'Alene River which interestingly goes through a tunnel under the town and has a huge wave that you can't see in the dark. This silver mining town is famous for having the last legal bordello in Idaho which closed in 1991. I visited the Northern Pacific depot and museum and exhibits on silver mining. I would have visited the Bordello Museum but it closed early that day. We ate at the Red Light Garage and had huckleberry shakes and Red Light burgers. A very interesting place to visit. /hugh
